After launching the Honor 7 last month, Huawei s sub brand has today launched the Honor 7i in China. The smartphone is currently on pre-orders, priced at CNY 1,599 (Rs 16,500 approximately) for the 16GB variant, and CNY 1,899 (Rs 19,500 approximately) for the 32GB variant. One of the talking points on the Honor 7i is its rotatable camera module, which is in line with the earlier leak. The smartphone boasts a 13-megapixel camera with a Sony sensor and dual-tone LED flash. To take a selfie though, you will use the aforementioned snapper by flipping it by 180 degrees. Another talking point is the fingerprint scanner that is integrated into the side, unlike many of the smartphones today that either feature it at the front or at the back. In addition to unlocking the smartphone, Honor says that users will also be able to store documents protected by fingerprint scan.
Honor 7i specifications and features
The Honor 7i flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 423ppi. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core (1.5GHz quad-core + 1.2GHz quad-core) processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU.
As mentioned above, the smartphone comes in two variants 16GB and 32GB with the former featuring 2GB of RAM, while the latter features 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also features a microSD card slot, 3,100mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, and GPS.
On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under Emotion UI 3.1. As mentioned above, the smartphone has launched in China, but there is no word on the company s plans to launch it in other markets.
