At a launch event in London, Honor 7X was officially unveiled today. The smartphone is the second by the company to sport the 18:9 FullView display trend, after the Honor 9i was launched two months ago. However, among its competitors, it is certainly not the only device that adopts the almost bezel-less design in a somewhat affordable budget. Price and availability
The Honor 7X is available in two variants 32GB and 64GB paired with 4GB of RAM. Priced at Rs 12,999 Rs 15,999 respectively, the smartphone will be exclusively available via Amazon India from December 7, with the sale kicking off at 12:00PM. On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi A1 first went on sale on September 12, and is priced at Rs 14,999. It is available for purchase on Flipkart and mi.com online, and offline Xiaomi has partnered with retailers such as Poorvika, Sangeetha, BigC, Lot and My G. The Moto G5S Plus is priced at Rs 15,999, and is available on Amazon India, and offline at MotoHub stores. Display and hardware
The displays of the three smartphone vary a bit, while the Honor 7X features a 5.93-inch full HD+ display, with an aspect ratio of 18:9, topped with a 2.5D glass. Under the hood, the Honor 7X is powered by a Kirin 659 octa-core processor, paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage, which is expandable using a microSD card. In comparison, the Xiaomi Mi A1 and the Moto G5S Plus are both powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
On the software front, the Honor 7X runs on Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.1. On the other hand, both Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5S Plus run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Also, the Xiaomi smartphone is layered with Google’s Android One operating system.
For photography, all the three smartphones feature a dual-camera setup at the back, which for all of them have been their talking points. In case of the Honor 7X, it includes a combination of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Up front is an 8-megapixel snapper. The Xiaomi Mi A1, on the other hand, sports a dual-camera assembly at the back, which includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support. The Moto G5S Plus sports a pair or 13-megapixel sensors, and an 8-megapixel one on the front.
Battery now being one of the primary considered specifications for a consumer, the three smartphones seem to have gone big on the juice. While the Honor 7X is fueled by a 3,340mAh battery, the Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with a 3,080mAh battery, whereas the Moto G5S Plus comes with a 3,000mAh one.
