We have been hearing rumors about the Honor 8 recently, which is expected to feature a dual-camera setup. Reports also say that Honor is hosting an event in China, where it is expected to launch the device. In the latest development, the Honor 8 has passed TENAA certification, and the listing has revealed some key information, including the design of the upcoming device. Looking at the render images, the Honor 8 will come with a metal frame. Also visible is a fingerprint sensor at the back along with the dual camera setup, which is in line with the previous rumors. Right below the dual-camera setup and fingerprint sensor there is the Honor logo.
Honor 8 specifications, features: As per the TENAA listing, the smartphone will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p full-HD display, Kirin 950 SoC clocked at 2.3GHz, and will be available in three variants — 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB variant with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB variant with 4GB of RAM. There is also a microSD card slot to expand the internal storage.
As for pricing, the base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage is expected to be priced at 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 20,300). The variant with 4GB of RAM + 64GB onboard storage could be priced at 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 25,700), and the top-end 128GB storage could cost 2,799 Yuan (approximately Rs 28,750).
On the camera front, the smartphone is among the latest company to opt for a dual-camera setup with 12-megapixel camera modules. Up front, will be an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Connectivity wise the device will support dual-SIM, USB Type-C port and NFC. Honor 8 is equipped with a 2,900mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
