After Honor 8 saw a decent success last year, the company looks to be ready to bring its successor to the market. Recently, an Honor device with model number DUK-TL30 was spotted on TENAA. Now the listing does not reveal the name of the device, but looking at the specifications, one can tell its beefed up version of the Honor 8, and so possibly a successor of the same. The DUK-TL30 device features a 5.7-inch display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. And like the Honor 8, the fingerprint sensor remains on the rear. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core processor. While the name of the chipset isn’t mentioned, it could possibly feature Huawei’s Kirin 960 CPU, same as the latest Mate 9 smartphone. The octa-core processor is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
Further, the pictures found on TENAA’s website confirm a dual-lens camera configuration on the back side, which comprises 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel photo sensors. Fuelling the smartphone is a 3,900 mAh battery. Considering the Honor 8 is soon getting the Android Nougat update, the DUK-TL30 would most likely ship with the latest OS as well. To put things in perspective, the Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display covered with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood is Huawei s Kirin 950 octa-core processor built on 16nm architecture, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage, which is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card.
For photography, the smartphone features two 12-megapixel camera sensors at the back with aperture of f/2.2 and pixel size of 1.76-micron. Besides the dual camera setup, the Honor 8 also comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera of aperture f/2.4 for selfies and video calling. Connectivity options in the smartphone include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC and Bluetooth. The smartphone also comes with the new USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. To keep things ticking, Honor has include a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging technology (9V/2A), which can charge the smartphone from 0-47 percent in 30 minutes. ALSO READ: Honor 8 review
The smartphone also includes a fingerprint scanner at the back for biometric authentication. There is also a built-in IR sensor on the top that lets you control your home entertainment system such as TV, music player, projector, set-top-box, and consumer electronics products such as air conditioner. On the software front, it runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under Huawei s EMUI 4.1.
