Huawei s sub-brand Honor seems all geared up to unveil the successor to its Honor 7 smartphone next month. According to a report from China, the company may launch the Honor 8 on July 5, and it could go on sale starting July 12. The Honor 8 has been rumored for quite some time now. The smartphone is likely to boast a dual camera setup at the back. Citing sources, GizmoChina reports that the smartphone could be offered in four different variants. The standard 4GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is likely to ditch NFC and could cost 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 20,500), whereas the second variant with same configuration and support for all networks could cost 2,199 Yuan (approximately Rs 22,600). The third variant with 4GB of RAM + 64GB onboard storage could be priced at 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 25,700), whereas the last one could be the top-end variant with 2K display, 4GB of RAM + 128GB storage and cost 2,799 Yuan (approximately Rs 28,750).
Honor 8 specifications, features: The smartphone is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch full HD (1080p) display, and the top end variant could feature the same screen size of 5.2-inch with higher resolution 2K display (2560×1440 pixels). Under the hood, the smartphone could be powered by Huawei s homebrew Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM.
In the camera department, the smartphone is rumored to sport a 12-megapixel dual-camera setup at the back and a front-facing 8-megapixel camera. Armed with 3,200mAh battery and support for fast charging, connectivity options such as Bluetooth, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS are likely to be in tow.
