Honor, the sub-brand for online-first smartphones from Chinese electronics and telecommunications giant Huawei, has launched its latest smartphone in India, the Honor 8X. Part of the Honor X series, the new smartphone is a mid-range device priced at Rs 14,999 onwards. The Honor 8X is available in three variants: 4GB / 64GB at Rs 14,999, 6GB / 64GB at Rs 16,999 and 6GB / 128GB at Rs 18,999.
The device will go on sale through Amazon India on 24 October, and will also be on sale through the Honor India e-store. At this price, the device is meant to take on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi Mi A2, Motorola One Power and Nokia 6.1 Plus, to name a few. Among the various devices in the sub-Rs 20,000 space, the Honor 8X is the latest launch, and sports an improved design.
Honor 8X Specifications and Features
The Honor 8X has been launched in the mid-range segment, with a price tag of under Rs 20,000 for all of its variants. The phone sports a large 6.5-inch full-HD+ screen, with a nearly edge-to-edge display that stretches almost to the bottom edge as well. The phone has a notch at the top, allowing the screen to reach the top edge, with a claimed screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, with EMUI 8.2 on top, and also has a 3,750mAh battery. You also get dedicated slots for two SIMs as well as a microSD card for expandable storage.

The phone is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC, and comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with the starting variant sporting 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone also sports a dual-camera setup at the rear, with a 20-megapixel primary sensor and 2-megapixel secondary sensor, along with a 16-megapixel front camera. Charging is through a micro-USB port, with no support for fast charging out-of-the-box. The phone is the successor to the Honor 7X, which was launched in India in late 2017.
