Launched last month, the Honor 9 is said to have already broken several records. Honor CEO, Zhao Ming has announced that the company has successfully shipped out more than 1 million units of the Honor 9 globally in just 28 days since its launch. The smartphone is priced at EUR 450 which translates to approximately Rs 33,000. The Honor 9 comes in 4 colors Amber Gold, Black, Blue and Gray. According to playfuldroid, Ming took to Webio to announce the news. In comparison, the Honor 8 took around two months to sell 1.5 million units of the smartphone. According to reports, Zhao Ming apologized to people who were not able to grab the Honor 9 and also promised that the production levels for the same will catch up very soon. The Honor 9, as of now is currently available in UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands as well as Switzerland. There is, however, no word as to when the smartphone will hit the Indian shore.
At a first glance, the Honor 8 and the Honor 9 look very similar- mainly because of the rear panel which comes with a three-dimensional curve for depth. TheHonor 9 also does away with the rear-positioned fingerprint scanner and instead placed a ceramic one upfront which also acts as the home button. The smartphone comes with a glass back. To recap on the specifications, Honor 9 comes with a 5.15-inch FHD (1080p) display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by company s in-house HiSilicon s 64-bit Kirin 960 chipset. The smartphone comes in two internal storage variants 64GB with 4GB RAM and 128GB with 6GB RAM. The dual camera remains the main focus of the smartphone. At the rear, the smartphone comes with a 12-megapixel primary RGB sensor, while the second sensor is 20-megapixel monochrome. The smartphone also comes with a hybrid zoom. The phone supports the Bokeh effect as well as GIFs. The front camera comes with 8-megapixel resolution. On the connectivity front, Honor 9 comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, VoLTE, micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack. The phone comes with a 3,200mAh battery and supports fast-charge.
