The Honor Note series consists of big-screen devices that take their place right between a smartphone and tablet. However, following the Honor Note 8, the Huawei sub-brand abandoned its phablet series of smartphones and did not launch a successor in 2017. But now it looks like the company is gearing up to revive the series back again, with a possible Honor Note 10.
According to an image of a shipping carton, spotted by GSMArena, Samsung is supplying 6.9-inch S-AMOLED panels to Huawei for developing a device codenamed Ravel. While earlier speculations suggested the display panels to be for Huawei Mate 20 Pro, experts now believe that is it in fact being ordered for a new big-screen Honor device. The fact that Honor Note 8 also used a Super AMOLED display, further helps confirm the news.
In a recent Weibo post, Honor’s President Zhao Ming had also hinted at using a big-screen variant of the Honor 10. Considering the fact that the Honor Note 8 was a bigger variant of the Honor 8, the mysterious device in question here is speculated to be the Honor Note 10.

That said, nothing else is confirmed and the device’s specifications are still unknown. However, being a flagship smartphone, we can expect it to come with the latest Kirin 970 chipset, as the one featured on the Honor 10. The report doesn’t mention other specifics of the 6.9-inch screen, but going by current trends, it could feature a full HD+ display with a tall aspect ratio of 19:9 or 18:9. However, nothing is confirmed yet and we’re not sure when Honor plans to launch the device.
