Last month, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched its Honor Play smartphone in India. A gaming-centric device, the Honor Play comes with flagship-grade hardware despite having a modest price tag.
If you’ve been planning to buy a smartphone under Rs 20,000, the Honor Play is definitely something you should consider. The smartphone’s going to go on sale on Amazon India today, so here’s everything you need to know about it.
Honor Play: Flash sale details, price, and other offers
Having a starting price of Rs 19,999, Honor Play will be available on Amazon India at 12PM via flash sale. Since there’s going to be limited units up for grabs, we’d advise getting online a few minutes ahead of the sale’s commencement, preferably on a fast and reliable network connection.
Successful buyers shall be entitled to receive 10GB of additional data for 12 months from Vodafone India, provided they have a Vodafone Red or Vodafone Red4business plan worth at least Rs 399.
Honor Play: Features and Specifications
Honor Play is powered by Huawei’s top-of-the-line Kirin 970 SoC (next only to the recently launched Kirin 980), paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. There’s also support for microSD cards of up to 256GB. Up front, the smartphone has a 6.3-inch FullHD+ notched display with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels.
Watch: Honor Play First Look
For imaging, Honor Play has a dual-camera system at the back, comprised of a 16-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. Up front, there’s a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. From 802.11a/b/g/n/ac to USB Type-C, the Honor Play has all modern connectivity options, with a 3,750mAh battery backing up the entire package.
Honor Play runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.1 UI overlay baked on top. The standout feature of the smartphone is Huawei’s ‘GPU Turbo’ technology, which works under-the-hood to (supposedly) provide the best gaming performance.
