Huawei sub-brand Honor launched its high-end gaming-oriented smartphone Honor Play last month in India. On October 1 however, the company also announced a new stylish Ultra Violet color variant for the smartphone, which is going on sale today via Amazon India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 19,999, and is available for purchase through open sale, alongside other color variants of Midnight Black and Navy Blue.
While being a gaming smartphone, the Honor Play still falls under the mid-range category. It is Honor’s first smartphone to come equipped with Huawei GPU Turbo Technology, which is said to improve gaming performance by 60 percent, while cutting down on battery consumption by 30 percent. The technology is said to work well with graphic-intensive games.
Honor Play features and specifications
The Honor Play sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) IPS LCD screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a notch at the top that houses the front camera, earpiece and sensors. It is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core SoC tagged alongside 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, the Ultra Violet variant is not available in the 6GB RAM configuration. Further, the smartphone also supports expandable storage via a hybrid microSD card slot, which can also be used for a secondary SIM.
