Huawei’s sub-brand is rolling out a new software update for the Honor Play smartphone. This OTA update introduces a couple of new features, fixes issues, and brings in the latest security patch.
The software update being rolled out is around 770MB in size, AndroidSoul reports, so it is recommended you have a strong Wi-Fi connection for the update process. Honor also recommends the device’s battery to be above 50 percent, and enough storage space before initiating the update process.
One interesting addition to the Honor Play smartphone via this update is support for AIS. Artificial Image Stabilization is something you find on smartphones like the Huawei P20 Pro, and is said to be better than EIS. This feature is handy when clicking photos or shooting videos on the move.
The smartphone comes with GPU Turbo tech to enhance the overall gaming experience. But some users reported bugs in this tech, and this update fixes them. The update also brings in stability improvements to the Swift app, Party mode, and Water Mark features. The smartphone is also updated with the latest Android security patch.

Honor is rolling out update version COR-AL00 188.8.131.52 to the Honor Play smartphone. It is being gradually rolled out OTA, and should reach everyone in the coming days. If you’ve not received the notification, you can manually check for the update by heading to Settings -> System -> System update, and then tapping on ‘Check for updates’.
Honor Play, as the name suggests, is a gaming smartphone from the Huawei sub-brand. Prices start from Rs 19,999 for the 4GB RAM variant, while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 23,999.
As far as specifications are concerned, the device comes with a 6.3-inch FHD+ LCD display, Kirin 970 SoC coupled with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, dual-camera setup (16-megapixel+2-megapixel) at the back, and a 16-megapixel selfie camera up front. The device also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3,750mAh battery under the hood.
