The likes of Motorola, HTC, Sony and LG have already announced a timeline for when they will start rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for their devices. Now, Huawei s sub-brand Honor has joined in and announced a timeline for its devices in India. Honor put up a tweet saying that it will start rolling out 6.0 Marshmallow update from February, 2016. The devices set to get this update include the Honor 4C, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 7, Honor 6 and the Honor 4X. There s no specific date mentioned, and the only clue is the month of February. Of these aforementioned smartphones, the recently launched Honor 7 is likely to be the first smartphone to get the Marshmallow update. Huawei marketing exec Xi Zhao recently let slip that Huawei will soon be releasing a beta release of the update for users to try.
The Honor 7 was launched in India in October, priced at Rs 22,999. The smartphone features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2.2GHz Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
The smartphone also includes a 20-megapixel camera with Sony sensor, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,100mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and an IR blaster. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop wrapped under Emotion 3.1 UI.

Google started rolling out the Marshmallow update for its Nexus devices in October, and the Android One smartphones were next in line to get the update. Android Marshmallow brings in a host of improvements, as well as a bunch of new features like App permissions, Doze mode, Google Now on Tap, and simpler volume controls, among others.
