The trolling began just before Apple s Spring Forward event kicked off. In a rather sarcastic tweet, the Pebble team tweeted, Excited to watch #AppleLIVE this morning! What are you expecting to see? The tweet also had a link to a Reddit page with the question, Will Monday’s Apple Watch announcement drive people towards or away from Pebble Time?

Following Apple s announcement of ResearchKit, an open-source platform to boost medical research, Pebble too gave a shoutout to its own medical app. The app in question is NightScout, which essentially displays blood-sugar levels on a Pebble smartwatch.

The team however was literally waiting to pounce the moment Apple started talking about the Watch. Pebble tweeted about gold being the color in vogue at the moment, and instead of pointing at the Apple Watch Edition, it had a photo of its new Pebble Time Steel. The latter, if you remember, is a clone of Apple s Watch Edition. Check out the similarities between the two here.

While showing off different watchfaces on the Apple Watch, CEO Tim Cook gave a short pause on one showing Mickey Mouse. Quite amused by it, Pebble tweeted a photo of their smartwatch with a Mickey Mouse watchface.

The biggest blow was when Apple announced the pricing of the Watch variants. With pricing for the gold variant topping $10,000, Pebble had this to say
