YouTube is one of the most popular video streaming apps. It has become our go to place for everything from music videos to movie trailers to live events and concerts. The company recently offered offline playback that lets users download videos and view them later when they don’t have internet connectivity. For online web apps, we would suggest websites such as KeepVid.com, ClipConverter.cc and youtube-mp3.org among others. In this example, we will be using ClipConverter.cc to convert a YouTube video into MP3. Let s take a closer look at how to do it.
1. Find the video on YouTube and copy its URL
Head over to YouTube and look for the video you want to convert. Copy the URL from the browser s address bar. We will need this to use on the converter website.
2. Paste the URL and select the format
Now, paste the YouTube URL on the ClipConverter.cc website in the dedicated column. Below this box, you ll find audio conversion formats, such as MP3, AAC, M4A and video formats such as 3GP, MP4, AVI and MOV. Select the format that you would like your video to be converted into.
3. Click on continue and download
We selected MP3 and clicked on continue . After the conversion is completed, you will get a download link on screen. Click on download and the converted MP3 song will start downloading on your computer.
Besides the web apps, there are a lot of native programs available for the PC. Some of these programs include freemake video converter, any video converter and movavi video converter among others. In this example, we re using Any Video Converter.
1. Get the video URL and paste in the section
The process remains the same with the only difference being you run a desktop program rather than relying on a browser based service. Head to YouTube and look for the video you want to convert. Copy the URL and paste it on to the add URL column.
2. Select the format and convert
Here, you get to choose between plenty of video formats, each letting you convert the YouTube videos into popular audio formats or for a specific devices that you own. For instance, you can convert the video to use on an iPhone, an iPad, tablets and Samsung smartphones among others. You also get the flexibility to tweak around with settings such as screen resolution, audio bit-rate and video format.
Another benefit of PC programs is that they allow you to convert existing video files from your computer to any other audio/video format.
