The macOS High Sierra public beta update brings some key improvements. One of the major changes include the new APFS (Apple File System), which is designed for today s ultra-fast flash storage drives. Apple has also included new HEVC video codec which it claims to offer 40 percent better compression. Other additions include Metal 2 for better graphics performance, Virtual Reality (VR) support for Mac, new tools to edit photos and much more. The macOS High Sierra public beta is compatible with MacBook Air (2010 and later), MacBook (Late 2009 and later), MacBook Pro (2010 and later), iMac (late 2009 and later), Mac Pro (2010 and later), and Mac mini (2010 and later). However, ensure that you take complete backup of your data, such as files, music, photos and videos. Head over to System Preferences -> Time Machine and take a backup of your Mac. How to enroll for macOS public beta
To be able to download the public beta builds, you ll first have to enroll for public beta by visiting here. Tap on sign up and enter your Apple ID credentials. You will then be asked to accept the terms and conditions, and then download the MacOS Public Beta Access Utility tool. Once the tool is downloaded, go ahead and install it.
How to install macOS public beta

Step Three: Accept the terms and conditions, select the drive partition where you want to install the new operating system and click on install. Your Mac will reboot and the installation process will take place. Once that is complete, your Mac will boot to the new High Sierra public beta build.
