Samsung is hosting an event in New Delhi today, where it is expected to launch two new smartphones — Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7. Samsung’s event kicks off at 12:00PM today, and it has created a micro site that hosts the live stream. Samsung introduced the selfie-focused Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 in China earlier this year. The smartphones are priced at 1,398 Yuan (Rs 14,300 approximately) and 1,798 Yuan (Rs 18,400 approximately) respectively. These two smartphones are aimed at selfie lovers, and Samsung is offering a 5-megapixel wide angle front camera with a front-facing LED flash. At the back, the smartphones feature a 13-megapixel snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The Galaxy J5 features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 2,600mAh battery.
The Galaxy J7, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 3,000mAh battery.
Both the smartphones feature similar connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and on the software front, both run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
