After Lenovo, HP has announced that it will be showcasing new affordable Chromebooks at CES 2018 next week. Called HP Chromebook 11 G6 and Chromebook 14 G5, the new models are said to cater to the education and enterprise markets. The Chromebook 11 G6 and 14 G5 are said to be an upgrade to the company s last-generation Chromebook. Powered by the latest 7th-generation Intel Celeron chipsets, both the devices ship with USB Type-C ports, and share a similar design as well. The Chromebook 11 G6 comes with an 11.6-inch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. On the other hand, the Chromebook 14 G5 comes with a 14-inch display with 1366×768 pixels resolution. Both Chromebooks feature an optional HD IPS touchscreen with a 180-degree hinge.
Under the hood is 7th generation Intel Celeron N processors paired with 8GB of RAM. The processors used by the HP Chromebook models work in conjunction with Intel HD Graphics 500 and support up to 64GB of storage space. HP claims that the dual-core Celeron N3350 processor is more power efficient while the quad-core Celeron N3450 processor is for a smoother and offers improved performance. The Chromebook 11 G6 will come with a USB Type-C port.
In terms of difference, the 11.6-inch Chromebook sees the biggest change with a change in position of ports. While on the Chromebook 14 G5, the ports have been shifted to the upper corners.
