We are less than a day away from the launch of the HTC 10, and a promotional video has given us the best look at the upcoming flagship smartphone. In fact, in the run up to the launch we have come to know almost everything there is to know about the HTC 10, and the only things that are still a mystery are the price tag and availability. Following is the leaked video, as well as, everything you need to know about the upcoming smartphone.
HTC 10 design: The device shown in the video is in line with most leaks we have come across so far. The overall design is not a lot different from the iPhone-lookalike HTC A9. Up front there is a physical button, which is likely to have a fingerprint scanner integrated. At the back the chamfered edges are more pronounced (and shiny), and we also see the HTC logo, the camera bump alongside the LED flash and laser autofocus, and antenna bands.
HTC 10 variants: HTC is launching the successor to last year’s One M9, but it is dropping the ‘M’ from the nomenclature and it will only be called the HTC 10. But a leak from earlier today claims that HTC could also be launching a separate variant called the HTC 10 Lifestyle. Unfortunately there is no information available besides the name.
HTC 10 specifications and features: From what we know so for, the smartphone is likely to feature a 5.2-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, and 4GB of RAM. It is expected to be available in 16GB, 32GB and 128GB variants, along with a microSD card slot to further expand the internal memory.
The HTC 10 will also feature a 12-UltraPixel camera at the back, a 5-megapixel selfie camera, and both cameras are expected to boast optical mage stabilization (OIS). We can also expect a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port. On the software front, it will run on Android Marshmallow wrapped under the Sense UI.
HTC 10 availability: Reports claim that HTC’s new smartphone will be launched in select markets sometime in mid-May. There is no word on when it could be launched in India though.
HTC 10 launch event: HTC’s launch event tomorrow kicks off at 6:30PM IST. You can head over to htc.com to follow the live stream. We will also have all updates as and when they are announced.
