HTC is rumored to be gearing up to launch its flagship smartphone soon, dubbed HTC U12. Now, a leak suggests that the company also has a budget offering in the pipeline. Codenamed ‘Breeze’, the smartphone is expected to flaunt an 18:9 aspect ratio display.
According to serial tipster Evan Blass, the HTC Breeze will be a budget smartphone with a 5.5-inch display, and aspect ratio of 18:9. In his tweet, Blass further mentions that the smartphone might be powered by a MediaTek processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone is further expected to come with 16GB of built-in storage. The smartphone will be armed with a 2,730mAh battery. On the camera front, we can expect a 13-megapixel primary rear camera and a 5-megapixel sensor up front for selfies. Reports suggest that the smartphone might launch at the upcoming MWC 2018.
HTC's got an upcoming 5.5" phone, Breeze (second time as HTC codename), that's mostly notable for pushing full screen, 18:9 aspect ratio down to entry level. Therefore specs are nothing special (Mediatek SoC, 2/16GB, 13/5MP, 2730mAh, etc), and it should be priced to reflect that.

Meanwhile, HTC has launched the U11+ smartphone in India. Priced at Rs 56,990, the smartphone will go on sale starting February 7 via Flipkart. HTC has only launched the 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage variant. The smartphone comes with Edge Sense technology, and is equipped with BoomSound speakers among its USPs.
On the other hand, HTC U12, the 2018-flagship from HTC is expected to feature a full-screen display with bezel-less design and dual-camera setup at the rear. Reports in the past say that HTC U12 might come with a 4K resolution display. Leaked renders also reveals that there will be a single front-facing camera with no front fingerprint scanner.
