In a surprise move, HTC has quietly unveiled two new smartphones in the Desire-series via its official Twitter handle. Called Desire 12 and Desire 12+, both smartphones come with HTC s Liquid Surface design, thus offering them a premium look and feel. Besides the Liquid Surface design, another highlight of both smartphones is the 18:9 display. The Desire 12+ is also HTC s third smartphone after One M8 and One M9+ to come with a dual camera setup at the back. The setup will allow you to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos. The Desire 12 flaunts a 5.5-inch HD+ display running at a resolution of 1440×720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM with 16GB onboard storage, or 3GB of RAM with 32GB onboard storage.

In the photography department, HTC is getting back in the dual camera smartphone game. The Desire 12+ comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera supplemented with a 2-megapixel sensor to let you add bokeh effects to your photos, and also lets you refocus them after the photos have been captured. Up front is an 8-megapixel sensor with LED flash.
With a 2,965mAh battery, connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 4G LTE with VoLTE. In the software department, the smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo update.
