Taiwan’s NCC certification gave us our first indication that HTC was working on another mid-ranger Desire smartphone called the Desire 620. While there is still no word on the launch, the smartphone has been allegedly given the hands-on treatment revealing the photos and specifications.
Bulgarian website Nixanbal put up the hands-on of the smartphone. Though it has since pulled down the webpage, it has still been shared over the Internet. According to the website, the Desire 620 will sport a 5-inch 720p display, and will be powered by Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone is also said to feature an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 8GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 2,100mAh battery. Per previous rumors, the smartphone will be available in two variants — Desire 620h and Desire 620u. The former supports 3G data connectivity, while the latter is 4G LTE capable.
The publication further reveals that HTC is planning on launching the Desire 620 sometime in January, and will be priced around $320 (Rs 19,700 approximately).
The phone seems to be the successor to Desire 610, which HTC launched earlier this year. But the company also launched Desire 616 recently. It is likely that the HTC Desire 620 will have little improvement over both the devices. For a quick refresh, the HTC Desire 616 sports a 5-inch display with 720p screen resolution. It is powered by a 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, and 1GB of RAM paired with 4GB of internal storage. Running on Android JellyBean 4.2.2, the phone was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 16,900.
