HTC today launched the Desire 816G in India, which is essentially a more affordable variant of the Desire 816. Compared to the latter’s Rs 24,999 launch price, the new smartphone is priced at Rs 18,990. The two phones are almost similar in specs and design, but here is what’s really different between the two devices.
The Desire 816G is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, while the Desire 816 features a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor. The former also features a smaller 1GB RAM, compared to the 1.5GB on the latter.
The new smartphone weighs slightly less than its older variant. The HTC Desire 816 weighs 165 grams, while the Desire 816G weighs at 158 grams.
