The oddly scheduled event, which skipped the CES and precedes the Mobile World Congress 2017, has set the curious watchers thinking about what exactly could it unveil at today’s event. In the past, there have been reports about the company announcing the HTC One X10, successor to its One X9 flagship smartphone along with a HTC-Under Armour smartwatch. However, in the past few days leaks and speculations have hinted at altogether different products up HTC s sleeve.
If the rumors are anything to go by, the Taiwanese company will possibly introduce the HTC U Ultra (Ocean Note) and HTC U Play (Ocean Smart) at the event. However, there have been some reports about a third model as well which could possibly be called the HTC Ocean Master. These smartphones are touted to be from HTC s new line of smartphones which will be sleek and buttonless in terms of design. The HTC U Ultra has been speculated to feature a large 6-inch display and run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. It is further expected to come powered with Qualcomm s Snapdragon 821 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The HTC U Play, on the other hand, is said t be a smaller version of the other two handsets and will sit between the Ocean Master and Ocean Note at 5.2-inch.
Earlier it was speculated that the HTC U Ultra or Ocean Note will run the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, which made sense given that the chipset both offers a 4K display support, which will add to the massive screen of the smartphone, along with support for dual-camera setup, which again will make the camera exceptional in terms of quality.
