Citing sources Android Police reveals the device codenamed Sailfish will come with a 5-inch full HD display, smaller than the 5.2-inch Nexus 5X. The smartphone will come with a quad-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM. According to the website, the smartphone will come with 32GB onboard storage, but there could be other storage variants as well. While the rear camera will remain at 12-megapixel, the front camera will be upgraded to 8-megapixel. Also Read - HTC Wildfire E Lite listed on Google Play Console
The smartphone is expected to come with fingerprint scanner on the back. It is an interesting information considering HTC smartphones have the fingerprint scanner underneath the display. Looks like Google has finally taken greater control on the design.
Another change is a slightly larger 2,770mAh battery as compared to the 2,700mAh on the Nexus 5X. According to Android Police, the smartphone will have USB Type C port at the bottom, bottom firing speaker (no word on whether it will be dual speakers or single) and a headphone jack on the top.
Looking at the leaked specifications, the Sailfish smartphone will be a more compact and powerful device than its predecessor. There will be a huge focus on performance with a better processor and RAM combination. The Nexus 5X runs on Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM.
Right now there s no information about the specifications and features of the larger HTC Nexus 2016 smartphone. Google will be rolling out the final version of Android N later this year.
