Google announced the Nexus 9 tablet in October and it started shipping in the United States earlier this month. India is expected to see the launch of the tablet soon as it has already gotten listed on the Google India Play Store with pricing details and an accessory.
An earlier report claimed that the Nexus 9 will launch on November 12, but that never happened. But now we have got a concrete proof that the device’s launch is imminent, as it recently got shipped in the country. First spotted by MakTechBlog, the device’s arrival is mentioned on Zauba, India’s import and export database. According to which, 2,010 units of the Nexus 9 arrived at New Delhi from Taiwan on November 15.
The Nexus 9 has been listed on Google India Play Store at Rs 28,900 for 16GB, Wifi only model. The 32GB storage variant, which also supports LTE costs Rs 44,900. The device has dual front-speaking speakers with HTC’s signature BoomSound. The 9-inch screen embraces the 2048×1536-pixel density at 4:3 aspect ratio. Inside the device sits a dual-core 2.3GHz Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and Kepler DX11 GPU. It comes with an 8-megapixel protruding rear camera, and a 1.6-megapixel selfie camera.
When iFixit guys cracked open it earlier this month, they weren’t exactly impressed with Nexus 9’s internal hardware. They found excessive use of glue inside, which makes it tough for a device to get repaired. Also, the speakers weren’t impressive. The reviews of the Nexus 9 weren’t much flattering either.
