While Google is expected to unveil the Nexus 9 tablet next week, an exact date is yet unknown. A report on Brightsideofnews.com however cited internal sources who claim that the tablet will be unveiled on October 15, and has also revealed the alleged price of the forthcoming tablet. According to the publication, Google will take the wraps off the Nexus 9 tablet next week on October 15. The timeline is consistent with earlier rumors, which have repeatedly claimed the tablet will be unveiled in the third week of October. The tablet is then said to be hitting stores on November 3, and will be priced at $399 (Rs 24,400 approximately). The pricing too is consistent with previous reports. The publication further claims that this time Google will sell the tablet via other retailers too in order to cater to a larger audience. An HTC executive yesterday all but confirmed that the Taiwanese company was building Nexus 9, and it would mark the company’s return into the tablet market, after the not-so-successful HTC Flyer and HTC Jetstream.
From what we know of the tablet so far, the Nexus 9 is likely to feature an 8.9-inch (2048×1440 pixels) display, Nvidia Tegra K1 processor, and 2GB of RAM. It will also feature an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, and a 3-megapixel camera at the front. On the storage front there will be 16GB and 32GB options, while on the software front, it will run on Android L.
Earlier today, the Wall Street Journal all but confirmed that the Motorola-built Nexus 6 too would launch later this month. Chances are Google will also unveil the phablet next week alongside the Nexus 9 tablet.
