HTC just last week launched the Desire 10 Pro and the Desire Lifestyle mid-range smartphones. Now there are reports that the company is working on a new series of smartphones. Dubbed HTC Ocean, the series will debut with three new smartphones, which are codenamed Ocean Master, Ocean Note and Ocean Smart. Right now details about these smartphones are scarce, but the internet is abuzz with a concept video of a HTC smartphone, which accidentally leaked on HTC product designer Danelle Vermeulen s website. The concept video shows a smartphone with no buttons and work with touch-sensitive controls on the side. The technology, in the video, is called Sense Touch feature. As the video shows, the smartphone is touch-sensitive, and you can basically do anything on the smartphone with touch-sensitive controls on the side. By what could be tap or swipe on the sides, one can play play music, adjust the volume, launch apps with Google Assistant and even make calls as well. With no sign of the home button, it could mean that the smartphone might feature a fingerprint scanner embedded within the display or embed on the side edges.
The smartphone shown in the video is believed to be part of HTC’s rumored Ocean series. The video also shows the smartphone has dual-camera lens, antenna bands on the top and bottom of the back panel. As the video shows, the HTC Ocean comes with a dual-camera setup which could be a sign that HTC is reviving its dual-camera feature. HTC had made its dual-camera debut in 2014 but it had stopped. The smartphones which feature a dual-camera setup are the HTC One M8, the HTC One M9+, the HTC Butterfly 2 and the HTC M8 Eye. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone is just a concept, and may never see light of the day. Moreover, the website is right now no longer accessible, but the video has already leaked to YouTube and other websites.
Besides the cool no-button smartphone, details about another HTC Ocean smartphone have surfaced online. Leakster Llab TooFer on his social media account revealed the codenames of the HTC Ocean smartphones. The three smartphones reportedly bear the codenames – Ocean Master, Ocean Note and Ocean Smart.
