HTC has just sent out media invites for an event in Delhi on April 14. The invite asks journalists to register for the event on its website, and has an image attached that dons a huge gift-wrapped box at the centre. Unveiled at MWC, the One M9 flaunts a 5-inch full HD (1920 1080 pixels) display. Under the hood is a 2GHz Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset with 64-bit capability, and paired with 3GB of RAM. Also included is 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. Also Read - HTC Wildfire E Lite listed on Google Play Console
The photography department sees a big change, with HTC ditching the Duo Camera setup that was introduced on last year s One (M8). Instead there is a 20-megapixel camera at the back accompanied by a dual-LED flash. The company has again persisted with its controversial 4-Ultrapixel snapper, but this time pushed it to the front for selfie lovers.
The rest of the features on the One M9 include BoomSound speakers with 5.1 Dolby Surround sound playback, a 2,840mAh battery, and the usual bevy of connectivity options includes LTE support, NFC, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, wrapped under Sense 7 UI.
Yesterday, HTC also announced the One M9+, marking the return of the Duo Camera set up alongside a physical button that comes with a fingerprint scanner. It is not sure if the One M9+ will also be launched alongside the One M9, as the smartphone is currently announced only in the China market.
