HTC has sprung a major surprise by launching the One M9+ in India today, instead of its flagship One M9. The smartphone was announced in China just a few days ago and will be available in the country early May, with a price tag of Rs 52,500. As far as the specifications of the HTC One M9+ are concerned, it features a 5.2-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display, and underneath is a 2.2GHz MediaTek MT6795T octa-core chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. On the photography front, the smartphone features a Duo Camera setup at the back that isn’t seen on the One M9. The primary camera is a 20-megapixel snapper along with a depth-sensing sensor. Up front, there is an Ultrapixel selfie camera.
The smartphone also features BoomSound speakers with Dolby surround sound technology, a 2,840mAh battery, and connectivity options like LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and Infrared. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop wrapped under Sense 7.
One of the talking points on the smartphone is the fingerprint sensor in the home button. The smartphone comes with a year of accidental damage warranty.
