Yesterday the first press render of the HTC One mini 2 surfaced online, which showed that the mini variant of the flagship device will feature only one rear camera. The press render is consistent with what leaked yesterday, and the device in the photo looks a smaller version of the One (M8). The only thing differentiating the devices is the camera setup at the back, where in place of the Duo camera there is a single 13-megapixel snapper. The specifications leaked by @evleaks too are in line with what earlier reports claimed. It will feature a 4.5-inch 720p display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. Also included will be 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and it will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat wrapped under Sense 6.0. HTC is expected to launch the One mini 2 sometime in May. In addition to the mini variant, HTC is also expected to launch an affordable plastic variant of the One (M8), as well as a premium variant reportedly called One (M8) prime.
