Earlier this year, HTC launched a tube-shaped action camera called the RE. Touted as a GoPro rival, the camera was launched in India last month, priced at Rs 9,990. As mentioned above, the RE marks HTC’s entry into the consumer camera market. It looks like a toy periscope, and with IP57 certification is capable of surviving outdoors. As for specifications, it is a 16-megapixel camera with 1/2.3-inch and 146 degree wide angle CMOS sensor. The camera also features 820mAh battery, which HTC claims is good enough for clicking 1,200 photos or one hour 40 minutes of continuous video recording in full HD resolution. HTC is also releasing a companion app that is compatible with Android and iOS devices that will allow users to share photos and videos directly from the RE to your device over Wi-Fi.
