The invite shared by ITHome mentions the date and country of launch, and also features the letter U . It is all but clear that the upcoming smartphone will be a part of HTC s premium U-series. Recently, there have been a few rumors around the successor to the U11, which could potentially be called the U11 Plus.
Based on what we have come across so far, the U11 Plus is likely to feature a largely similar design as well as the highlight Edge Sense feature. The one difference, however, will be upfront, where HTC is likely to opt for an edge-to-edge display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Buyers are likely to get a choice of two colors Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver.
HTC U11 Plus specifications, features
As for the specifications, rumors hint at a 5.99-inch display with Quad HD+ (1440×2880 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is likely to be Qualcomm s Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Storage options could include 64GB and 128GB.
The rest of the rumored features include a 12-megapixel rear camera with OIS, UltraSpeed auto-focus, and f/1.7 aperture. Up front, there is likely to be an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Considering, the U11 is set to get Android Oreo update soon, the U11 Plus could potentially run on the latest Android OS out-of-the-box.
The HTC U11 was launched in India back in June with a price tag of Rs 51,990. It features a 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of expandable internal storage. It also comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera, 16-megapixel front-facing camera, 3,000mAh battery, and IP57 certification that makes it resistant to water and dust.
