Following the launch of HTC U Play and U Ultra, the HTC U 11 is believed to be under works now, which will also be the company’s flagship smartphone. Though the launch is expected to happen next week on May 16, the approaching date can hardly slow down rumor mills. After the purported HTC U 11 was leaked on a benchmarking website last week, a similar such instance has taken place now, with the smartphone being spotted on GFXBench.
By now, it has almost become a custom to benchmark unreleased phones, and in this custom the HTC U 11’s GFXBench run has resulted in a pretty comprehensive list of its specs being outed. This particular leak falls pretty much in line with what has been revealed in the previous leaks and rumors till now.
According to the benchmark listing, the HTC U 11 will feature 5.5-inch QHD display. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset, accompanied by 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage. For photography, the HTC U 11 is believed to feature a 12-megapixel primary camera, and 16-megapixel front facing camera. The leak also reveals that the HTC U 11 will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat, with the latest version of HTC Sense on top, of course.
Quite similar to this one, the last week’s leak of the HTC U 11 on the GeekBench revealed the smartphone running the newer Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. At its heart sat Qualcomm’s MSM8998 chipset aka the Snapdragon 835 SoC, clocked at 1.9GHz with eight cores. The processor was paired with 4GB of RAM. Further, HTC recently posted a teaser video for the launch with a tagline ‘Squeeze for the Brilliant U’. The teaser demonstrated how squeezing the side edges of the smartphone produced a sound. The five second demo clip falls in line with a number of leaks and speculations from the past which suggested that HTC’s ‘Edge Sense’ technology will allow users to perform functions by squeezing or swiping along the sides of the smartphones.
