HTC is set to unveil its new smartphone, HTC U 11, on May 16. Even though we are just days ahead of the launch, details about the smartphone have continued to pour in. While there have been plenty of leaks and rumors, the company has also been putting up a few teasers on the social media. In its latest teaser video, HTC has kept the anticipation growing by revealing a few new features that would be part of the HTC U 11.
In the 9-second long video, HTC reveals a 360-degree audio recording feature that would be seen on HTC 11. While other reports suggest that the new HTC U 11 teaser could also be teasing of a 360-degree-video recording feature. Well, we doubt if the 360-degree camera on smartphones is happening right now. So, we would like to speculate that it’s the 360-degree-audio recording feature that HTC tends to imply from the video.
Also, the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play, launched earlier this year, sport a similar feature as well. The HTC U Ultra and U Play has four always-on-microphone for biometric voice unlock and control. These four microphones on HTC U Ultra and U Play could also be used while video recording delivering and immersive 3D-high-resolution-audio output. HTC might have made an improvement and further tweaks to the feature for the HTC U 11. ALSO READ: HTC U Play price slashed in India, available for Rs 29,990 on Amazon
This comes as the second official giveaway by HTC about the HTC U 11. Prior to this, HTC hinted at a ‘squeezable body frame’ which allows gesture controls on the device, also dubbed as Edge Sense.
From previous rumors and leaks, the HTC U 11 is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Quad-HD display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. It could feature 4GB or 6GB RAM along with 64GB or 128GB internal storage. In terms of optics, it could sport a 12-megapixel primary camera and a 16-megapixel secondary camera on the front for selfies. HTC U 11 is expected to house a 3,000mAh battery.
