The five second demo clip falls in line with a number of leaks and speculations from the past which suggested that HTC s Edge Sense technology will allow users to perform functions by squeezing or swiping along the sides of the smartphones.
With Edge Sense , one can further customize gestures for different functions as per user preference. Based on the teaser, the purported smartphone could arrive in a blue color having narrow bezels.
Talking about the specifications, the upcoming smartphone also labelled as the HTC U , is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD display. In the photography department, the flagship smartphone could sport a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 12-megapixel front camera. On the software front, it will most likely run on Android 7.1 Nougat-based HTC Sense 9 UI. Similar to other smartphones in the HTC U series, it will also ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack and support audio through Type-C port.
Given the use of the newest Qualcomm processor, the next HTC smartphone is likely to sit in the premium category. To give a context, the current HTC U lineup which includes the HTC U Ultra and U Play are priced at Rs 59,990 and Rs 39,990 respectively.
