The HTC U Play has recieved a major price cut. The 64GB version of the smartphone is now retailing for Rs 29,990 on Amazon India. The smartphone launched in India in February this year with a price tag of Rs 39,990. Though Amazon lists the official price at Rs 41,990. After the price cut, the HTC U Play will still compete against the OnePlus 3T, one of the popular choices for under Rs 30,000 segment. Though HTC and OnePlus cater to a different set of audiences altogether.
HTC U Play Specifications
To recall, the HTC U Play features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) display and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC. It has 4GB of RAM along with 64GB internal storage which is also expandable upto 2TB. HTC ditched 3.5 mm audio jack on HTC U Play and instead, it uses USB Type-C connector for audio output.
In terms of photography, the HTC U Play features a 16-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, LED Flash and OIS. Up front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture and UltraPixel mode. The device runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0-based HTC Sense UI. In comparison, the OnePlus 3T runs on Android Nougat 7.0 based Oxygen OS. It features a 5.5 inch full HD AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC clocked at 2.35Ghz. In terms of optics, OnePlus 3T also has a 16-megapixel camera on both front and rear panel. It has 3,400 mAh battery.
