Launched a year ago in May, HTC U Ultra is the latest one from the company to get upgraded to Android Oreo. Or so claims a report from the Android Soul.

Reportedly, HTC is rolling out Android Oreo via an OTA update to HTC U Ultra smartphone users in India, Italy and Taiwan. Separately, a post on HTC’s Taiwan forum confirms the update for Taiwan as well.

The Android 8.0 Oreo update is being made available in two different firmware versions to the users in different regions. The update is also accompanied with Android security patch for January. HTC U Ultra users in Taiwan will get the firmware version 2.19.709.2, which is around 1.58GB in size. The other firmware versions available is v2.19.400.1, about 1.32GB in size.

The HTC U Ultra was largely noticeable for its HTC Sense Companion artificial intelligence platform. The platform is basically an AI-based system that learns the user’s daily patterns to give recommendations. It further uses data from the cloud to enhance user experience. The smartphone also has something called HTC USonic, which analyses your inner ears with a sonar-like pulse to enhance the overall listening experience.

Further, the HTC U Ultra comes with a 150×1040 pixels resolution secondary display. The primary one, however, is a 5.7-inch Super LCD 5 display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

Under the hood is a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB built-in storage, which is expandable up to 2TB using a microSD card. For photography it sports a 12-megapixel UltraPixel rear camera, along with a 16-megapixel front camera with UltraPixel mode.

Backed by a 3,000mAh battery, the smartphone comes with Quick Charge 3.0 and power saving, extreme power saving mode. On the connectivity options include front fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Type-C support. HTC U Ultra doesn’t feature the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
