HTC recently confirmed Android 8.0 Oreo update for HTC 10, U11 and U Ultra. However, the company did not reveal a timeline for the rollout. But, if latest reports are anything to go by, HTC U11 will get Android 8.0 Oreo update as soon as November-end or early December. According to leakster LlabTooFeR, Android Oreo update for the HTC U11 is about to reach final stages of the development, so chances are the company will release it in November or early December. Once the Android Oreo update is rolled out to U11, we can expect HTC to roll out the update to U Ultra followed by HTC 10 by next year.
With Android Oreo, HTC U11 will get some new features. The notable ones include Picture-in-Picture mode, Notification Dots, and Android Instant Apps among others. Android Oreo also promises optimizations such as minimizing background activity in the apps least used, better connectivity, and a longer battery life. The update will also save some efforts as it will come with auto-fill feature, which means that with your permission, the new Android iteration will remember your logins details to your favorite apps. It also comes with support for 4K video recording and 360-degree sound recording. It houses a 16-megapixel camera for selfies. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery. In the meantime, HTC is also gearing up to launch its next smartphone, dubbed to be the HTC U11 Plus. The smartphone has already been subjected to many leaks and rumors. The smartphone is expected to launch on November 2. In terms of specifications, the smartphone is said to feature a 6-inch QHD+ display. The device might run Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In the photography department, it might sport a 12-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel camera up front.
