HTC has gradually reduced the manufacturing and development capabilities for its own smartphones since the company was officially acquired by Google this year. In fact, the company’s hardware focus reduced to such an extent, that it announced only three devices – HTC Desire 12, Desire 12 Plus, and the U12 Plus for the first half of its 2018 smartphone catalog.

Although the year isn’t over yet, the company seems to trying to get around with the announcement of the HTC U12 Life in the coming months. This intermediate model has already leaked previously and is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, two rear cameras, and a design very similar to the Google Pixel line of 2016. Today, an exclusive leak from the Dutch media, Nieuwe Mobiel confirms, through a filtered sketch, the design for the new HTC U12 Life.

According to the sketch design which we can see from the Dutch website, the U12 Life will feature an 18:9 or 19:9 aspect ratio screen with higher dimension and thick edges, two rear cameras, and a fingerprint reader also located on the back of the smartphone. It’s likely to use two different materials in its construction – possibly glass and metal.

Taking a look at the supposed design, we see how HTC would have decided to adopt the rear divided into two parts that Google popularized with the first generation of Pixel smartphones. In fact, this HTC U12 Life bears a strong resemblance, at least in its back, with the phones being made by Google. Another detail that can be deduced from the sketch is the inclusion of a dual camera located vertically, located in an upper corner of the back, near the fingerprint reader.

The combination can attract glimpses of potential buyers of the device, which may come with the latest Android P, Bluetooth 5.0, featured cameras and the same functionality of squeezing the sides of the smartphone found in other HTC models. U12 Life is likely to be introduced in mid-November 2018, the same time as U11 Life’s announcement in 2017, and the manufacturer is also expected to keep the device price at around $349.
