HTC has long been rumored to be working on its next flagship smartphone, the U12+, and is rumored to launch sometime in mid-May. Reports also hint that HTC will skip the smaller U12 and only release the plus variant. Now, hands-on photos of the alleged HTC U12+ have surfaced online showing off the final smartphone design from all angles. As we can see in the leaked photos (via SlashLeaks), HTC will follow the current display trend and the smartphone will feature a screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. And while other Android OEMs are adopting the display notch, HTC is playing it safe without one. Turn around and you have the glass back with curved edges and HTC s signature liquid surface design featuring a mirror finish. The top half houses dual rear camera modules, dual tone LED flash, and laser auto-focus system. Below it there is a circular fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
Talking about the frame, the power button and two volume keys are on the right, whereas the SIM card and microSD card slot is on the left. The bottom houses a speaker grill, microphone and USB Type-C port. And just like the previous HTC flagship smartphones, the U12+ will also ditch the headphone jack.

HTC U12+ specifications and features
From what we know so far, the HTC U12+ will ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. HTC may also be working with on storage variants.
While we now know that the U12+ will include dual rear camera setup, there is no word on whether HTC will go for a high-resolution primary sensor with a secondary depth sensor, or it will go with a monochrome + RGB sensors, or will it go for a wide-angle + telephoto lens setup. In the software department, the HTC U12+ will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
