HTC is all set to launch its 2018 flagship smartphone today, and the event is set to take place in Taiwan. Ahead of the launch, we have come across leaked specifications, features, pricing and even the leaked renders. That’s not all. even HTC accidentally published the page yesterday revealing all key details, only to pull off the page later. Now, someone managed to run the HTC U12+ through the paces on Geekbench.

Spotted by Dutch site MobielKopen, the HTC U12+ is seen bearing model number 2Q55100. It has managed to log a score of 2407 in the single-core test and 8894 in multi-core test. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. It is seen running Android 8.0 Oreo, and a layer of Sense UI is expected to run on top. Sadly, OEMs seem to ignore Android 8.1 for some reason.

HTC U12+ specifications and features

From what has been leaked so far, the HTC U12+ will flaunt a 6-inch WQHD+ (1440×2880 pixels) Super LCD6 display, and will feature 128GB of internal storage that can be further expanded (up to 2TB) using a microSD card. To keep things ticking, 3,500mAh battery will be in tow with fast charging feature. The U12+ will be IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, and the signature Boomsound speakers are also expected.

In the photography department, the smartphone will come with dual cameras on the front and back. The rear setup will include a 12-megapixel sensor with wide-angle lens, and a 16-megapixel secondary sensor with a telephoto lens for 2X zoom and bokeh mode. Up front will be dual cameras of 8-megapixel resolution, and it will also support bokeh mode and AR stickers. Support for AR stickers will also be there.

The leaked listing page mentioned Chinese price tag of RMB 5,888, which roughly translates to Rs 62,800. Well, clearly, HTC flagship smartphone will cost a bit more than the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 8Google Pixel 2 XL, and Apple iPhone 8 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S9 to name a few. It will be interesting to see if HTC can pull it off this time around.
