According to a report by a Taiwanese publication (via SlashGear) the smartphone will be officially unveiled in early May. The report also claims to reveal a set of specification for the upcoming smartphone. It suggests that the HTC U12+ will feature a 6-inch display. It will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. It will come with 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB internal memory. Also Read - HTC Wildfire E Lite listed on Google Play Console
The report also claims a 3,420mAh battery would fuel the device. In terms of optics, the smartphone will reportedly sport a combination of a 12-megapixel and 16-megapixel camera setup at the rear, along with a dual-camera configuration of two 8-megapixel sensor on the front. So count that to four!
HTC will apparently continue with the Edge Sense UI technology in the U-series. The feature essentially allows users to activate apps of their choice with just a squeeze on the edge of the device.
Besides this rumor, the smartphone is said to have also been showcased at a 5G event in Taiwan recently.
HTC has pretty much conceded its position as a major competitor to Apple and Samsung in the past years with poor pricing and delayed launch of its products. Sadly, most of its flagships looked almost same as its previous year s phones. However, the bets on U12+ are high and it might just bring a fresh lease of life to the company s mobile arm.
