After weeks of rumors and specification and image leaks, Huawei has finally unveiled the Ascend P6 at an event in London. The Chinese smartphone company claims that the Ascend P6 is the thinnest Android smartphone in the world measuring a ridiculous 6.18mm in breadth. As the previously leaked hands-on photos show, the Ascend P6 looks very iPhone-ish with a thin profile and a metal frame that has an integrated network antenna.
The specifications on the Ascend P6 are also consistent with previous leaks, with the smartphone flaunting a 4.7-inch full-HD display and powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. Other features on the device are an 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor BSI camera and F2.0 aperture, a 5-megapixel front camera and a 2,000mAh battery.
On the software front, the device runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box packed under a new Emotion UI that includes updated features like Huawei s Me Widget, MagicTouch, SmartReading and Airshare, which allows users to easily sharing documents. The camera UI too gets updated features like panoramic shoot and facial recognition photography functions.
The Ascend P6 will first go on sale in China beginning this month, European markets in July followed by other markets in the coming months.
