The Huawei Ascend W2 has leaked a couple of times this year, especially during the Mobile Asia Expo 2013, where it was to be unveiled. Today, the company has officially announced the Windows Phone 8 smartphone. The device will be available in Russia and Netherlands from November and though the press release says that it will “arrive in India soon”; there are no details about the availability. In terms of specifications, the Ascend W2 sports a 4.3-inch WVGA (800×400 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor paired with 512MB of RAM. Other features included are a 5-megapixel rear camera, no front facing camera, 8GB of internal storage that is not expandable and a 1,700mAh battery. As mentioned above, the device runs on Windows Phone 8 and will also come with 7GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage. Huawei will be offering the device in multiple colored variants including black, red, blue and yellow.
