Huawei s second generation Ascend Mate phablet is around the corner and now a few new alleged photos have appeared on Engadget(Chinese). The photos showcase the original Ascent Mate compared with the Ascent Mate 2. Also Read - Top 5 best-selling smartwatch brands in the world
With what we have gathered from the photos, the Ascent Mate 2 will will have a slightly tweaked design slight and could be even thinner than the previous model. The photos also highlight the presence of a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and a 13-megapixel primary camera. The settings for the camera in the leaked photos show that it will be able to take pictures in 10-megapixel resolution as well.
What looks disappointing is the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which is relatively an older version of the software. The UI will be coated with Huawei s own Emotion skin. Also, it is likely that the Ascent Mate 2 does not get an upgrade on the display front, and could possibly feature a 6.1-inch 720p display as was seen on the previous model.
As far as the phablet s launch is concerned, Huawei will most likely announce it at the forthcoming CES 2014.
