Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth with 18:9 display launched: Price, specifications, features

The new Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth is aimed at young users who like their smartphones to offer good selfie experience.

Huawei has quietly added a new smartphone to its Enjoy 8 series. Back in March, the company had launched the Enjoy 8, Enjoy 8 Plus, and the Enjoy 8e. The smartphone has been launched with a price tag of RMB 799, which is approximately Rs 8,500. Buyers will be able to choose from three colors black, blue, and gold. The smartphone is currently up for pre-orders, and it will be going on sale from June 1. There is no word on whether Huawei plans to launch this Enjoy 8e Youth in other markets, including India. Huawei Enjoy 8e Youth specifications, features

As far as specifications are concerned, the Enjoy 8e Youth sports a 5.45-inch HD+ LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core SoC paired with 2GB of RAM. There is also 32GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.

The new smartphone s highlight is the selfie camera experience. On paper it has a 5-megapixel snapper up front with a soft LED flash. This LED flash is said to be able to automatically recognize the ambient light, and brighten up selfies. Speaking of smart features, the device is also said to be capable of intelligently adjusting volume during voice calls depending upon the environmental noise.

The smartphone s other features include a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF support, and dual-tone LED flash, a 3,020mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and FM radio. On the software front, the dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo wrapped under EMUI 8.1.
