On the sidelines of Huawei’s much-anticipated launch of the Mate 9 smartphone on November 3, the company is also being rumored to launch a second product – Honor S1 smartwatch. While the Mate 9 specifications and features have been leaked almost in entirety, not much had been revealed about the purported smartwatch before. Ahead of the official launch, images of the Honor S1 smartwatch have leaked online. Also, the wearable has been spotted on Chinese vmall.com, revealing its price and some of its features.
According to rumors, the Honor S1 smartwatch, unlike Honor s Band Z1, will be more than just an activity tracker. It comes with a circular e-paper display, similar to what we have seen on the Pebble Time Round smartwatch. On vmall.com, the smartwatch is selling at 699 Yuan (approximately Rs 6,000). Although there is no official word on whether the company is working on a new wearable, if announced, the Honor S1 will be the first smartwatch by Huawei s sub-brand.
Honor S1 smartwatch specifications
Based on the leaked images and the listing on Vmall, the Honor S1 smartwatch is crafted out of aluminium and likely to feature a 1.04-inch (208 208 pixels) e-paper display and will feature smaller bezels as compared to the Pebble Time Round. The e-paper display is a type of low-power display that offers better sunlight legibility and survives longer despite smaller batteries in smartwatches.
The images do not show any physical buttons visible on the smartwatch, which suggests that it will be only touch-controlled. It is likely to be waterproof (uo to 50 meters), dustproof and comes with a heart rate sensor. According to the listing, the smartwatch comes powered by an 80mAh battery. It comes with a four-pin charging port that is connected by a magnetic charging cradle. The charging dock comes with micro USB 2.0 port. The charging time on paper is 2 hours for a full charge that is said to offer periodic measurements of heart rate for up to 6 days.
The Honor S1 smartwatch further comes with Bluetooth support. It can pair up with smartphones running Android 4.4 and above, and iOS 8.0 and above. ALSO READ: Huawei Mate 9 to launch tomorrow; here s everything we know so far

There have been speculations that the Huawei Mate 9 will carry forth the dual camera design as seen on the Huawei P9. There have also been rumors that the smartphone s premium variant, dubbed Mate 9 Pro, will feature Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge-like dual curve display.
In terms of specifications, the Mate 9 will come with a 5.9-inch full HD display with 2.5D glass on top. It will be powered by Huawei s own Kirin 960 octa-core chipset paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It is expected that there will be three storage variants of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
Highlight of the Mate 9 is its Leica-engineered dual-camera module. It is expected to combine 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel rear cameras in the dual setup. It will come with Optical Image Stabilization, 4x optical zoom, laser auto-focus, hybrid auto-focus feature, contrast focus, and depth focus.
