Ahead of its official launch next month, Huawei Mate 20 has leaked on Weibo, China’s micro-blogging platform. The leaked image shows the front of the device, which confirms the curved screen design of the smartphone. The image also shows the streamlined design and confirms that it will only have a USB Type-C charging port at the bottom. The Mate 20 appears on China’s Weibo just hours after it was spotted on TENAA, China’s telecom regulatory authority. Also Read - Upcoming Coolpad COOL 20 specs revealed ahead of May 25 launch
Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be the successors to last year’s Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones. The smartphones will build on the legacy of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones introduced early this year. The smartphones will be powered by Kirin 980, an octa-core CPU based on new 7nm process. The processor should not only be faster than its predecessor Kirin 970 but also offer improvement in the battery department.
Both the smartphones are expected to feature bezel-less design with edge-to-edge display. They are expected to drop the fingerprint sensor at the front seen on the P20 series and will either switch to in-display fingerprint sensor or offer 3D facial recognition technology similar to Apple’s Face ID.

The leaks so far indicate that the Mate 20 will have a vertically stacked triple camera setup while the Mate 20 Pro is expected to feature the triple camera setup along with the LED flash in a square layout. These two devices are expected to be joined by another high-end Mate 20 Porsche design edition.
