Huawei is now the second-largest smartphone maker in the world, beating Apple and moving closer to Samsung – with a strong possibility of overtaking the South-Korean giant later this year. To accomplish this, Huawei needs to introduce new smartphones that resonate well with consumers.
Huawei will update its Mate range of smartphones later this year. Now, the base model of the Mate 20 series has been leaked by Roland Quandt from WinFuture.de, showcasing its design, and revealing key specifications.
Huawei Mate 20 Specifications
The new Huawei Mate 20 Lite will have a design similar to the Mate RS Porsche device, which was released earlier this year at the Huawei P20 event. The Huawei Mate 20 Lite will have 4 cameras, two rear and two front, of which the rear will be 20MP + 2MP, while the front camera having 24MP + 2MP combination. Regarding hardware, Roland Quandt from WinFuture.de claims that the smartphone will arrive with a gigantic 6.3-inch screen with a notch (as seen in the images) to house sensors, front-facing cameras, and loudspeaker. The display will be of LCD technology having the Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080p) at 19:9 aspect ratio.
Huawei will implement the Kirin 710 chipset in Mate 20 Lite, a high-performance processor manufactured by TSMC in 12-nanometer processes, equipped with a speed of up to 2.2 GHz. The device seems to come in only a variant of 64 GB internal storage and possibly with 4 GB of RAM. Finally, the Mate 20 lite will have a thickness of only 7.6 mm and a battery capacity of 3,650 mAh, weighing 172 grams.
Price and release date
WinFuture.de indicates that the Huawei Mate 20 Lite could cost about $400 (₹28,000 approximately). There is no information yet on a possible announcement or launch date, but it is likely to be introduced with rest of the Mate 20 devices this October.
