Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will be made official on October 16 and the smartphones are expected to bring design changes alongside an improved triple camera system. Ahead of their launch, Huawei has already confirmed that Mate 20 series will be powered by new Kirin 980 SoC fabricated using 7nm process. While we have seen a number of leaks and rumors about these two devices, more details have emerged revealing RAM and storage.

A TENAA listing for the upcoming Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and the Porsche Design of the smartphone reveals the RAM and memory configuration. The Huawei Mate 20, with model number HMA-A00, is said to come in three different configuration: a 4GB RAM variant with option for 64GB or 128GB or 256GB internal storage. There is a 6GB and 8GB RAM variant with option for 128GB or 256GB or 512GB internal storage.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro, on the other hand, is listed to be available only in two storage variants. The base model starts with 6GB of RAM and option for 256GB and 512GB storage. There is also an 8GB RAM variant with three storage of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.

One of the most interesting revelations from the TENAA listing is that Mate 20 Porsche Design will be available in 4GB RAM variant as well. This will be a major change from previous years, when Mate 10 Porsche Design only came in top-end variant. The Mate 20 Porsche Design is limited to start with 4GB RAM, and option for 128GB and 256GB storage.

There is 6GB RAM variant with 256GB or 512GB storage and an 8GB RAM variant with either 128GB or 256GB of 512GB storage. The Mate 20 Porsche Design is expected to be the most premium device and a 4GB RAM version should make it more affordable to a lot of users, who prefer design over performance.

Huawei will launch the new Mate 20 series at an event in London on October 16. The Mate 20 series is expected to feature a 6.3-inch AMOLED display and triple camera setup arranged like a square with LED flash on the back. The smartphones are expected to include Face ID facial recognition system similar to the one found on iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. There are also rumors of in-display fingerprint sensor but we won’t count on that. Huawei has set a new benchmark with its P20 Pro flagship and will need to better with updated camera, design and support for wireless charging.
